Ethera VITAE
The visual elegance of the fine woodworking detail eloquently attests to ethera’s pride in craftsmanship and its quest for perfection. Look closely at the finish, be it mahogany or an exotic wood such as rosewood or koa. Exquisite, lovingly finished by a craftsman specifically for the new owner.
The Vitae’s pleasing features are not just cosmetic. Every internal and external refinement contributes in some way to the realization of sonic purity. In fact, the Vitae is a splendid example of a design in which form follows function.
The speaker box shape is a little unusual, and deceptively small. Viewed from the front, it appears rectangular, but viewed from any other vantage point, an intricate arrangement of surfaces is evident. This configuration of a contoured front baffle and angled sides combined with the Vitae’s unique internal twin-vent design is the secret to the incredible sound.
Inside the box is where the magic happens
The two-way vented system produces smooth, extended bass, freedom from resonant peaks, and high power handling capacity relative to the size of the box. The integrated twin vents contributes greatly to the controlled behavior of the air mass inside the enclosure, resulting in deep, tight, undistorted bass.
Ethera has been uncompromising in its approach to crossover network design. The Vitae’s 1.2 kilogram passive system performs impeccably to produce impressive stereo sounds without the additional outlay on power sources and amplifiers required by other types. Huge air-cored inductors, chosen for their unquestionable linearity and low DC resistance are used in conjunction with high- stability, metallized polypropylene capacitors to carry out the main crossover functions. Network components are individually matched in our workshop to optimize and balance performance in both stereo channels.
The drivers are produced by leading manufacturers in Europe and Great Britain, while the smaller parts are made by one of Canada’s most discriminating dealers in high fidelity speaker components.
